Description

Patrick, Simon,

I'm in the process of setting up some email lists and I would like them to operate with the Xalgorithms domain name, as follows.

I'm using https://www.mailmanlists.net

I've registerd the first one and now DNS are records required in Cloudflare for xalgorithms.org. Better you do this than have me messing with these settings. Please call me for the temporary password when you are able to look after this.

A record:
Name (or Host) lists.xalgorithms.org
Content (or Points to) 46.226.109.95

AAAA record:
Name (or Host) lists.xalgorithms.org
Content (or Points to) 2001:4b98:dc2:41:216:3eff:fe73:e0a7

MX record:
Name (or Host) lists.xalgorithms.org
Content (or Points to) mailmanlists.eu

TXT record (SPF):
Name (or Host) lists.xalgorithms.org
Content (or Points to) v=spf1 mx a ip4:46.226.109.95 ip6:2001:4b98:dc2:41:216:3eff:fe73:e0a7 ~all

TXT record (DMARC):
Name (or Host) _dmarc.lists.xalgorithms.org
Content (or Points to) v=DMARC1; p=none; pct=100; rua=mailto:; sp=none; aspf=r

Thanks -- I would have to implement the DNS settings via Cloudflare -- are you familiar with doing that?

Hi Joseph,
Thank you for your recent order for the list: xalgo4trade
The DNS records for "lists.xalgorithms.org" still need to be set up at your end. There is a guide on our website, and the data required can be found in your Account there.
Please let me know if you need any assistance.

Mark

Well, service on a Sunday rocks...

I should be able to do this myself. But please advise if you see a problem with what I'd be doing.

Hi,

You'll be adding records for "lists.xalgorithms.org". They will
have no bearing on any of your existing records which are only
for "xalgorithms.org".

On your CloudFlare Dash, you'll see that heading is:

DNS Records For xalgorithms.org
Add records for "lists.xalgorithms.org" as follows:
1. Select "A" in the left drop-down menu.
2. In the text box to the right (Name), enter "lists"
(without the quotes).
3. In the next box, enter the IP address "46.226.109.95"
(without the quotes)
4. Click the Add Record button.
5. Select "AAAA" in the left drop-down menu.
6. In the text box to the right (Name), enter "lists"
(without the quotes).
7. In the next box, enter the IP6 address
"2001:4b98:dc2:41:216:3eff:fe73:e0a7" (without the
quotes)
8. Click the Add Record button.
9. Select "MX" in the left drop-down menu.
10. In the text box to the right (Name), enter "lists"
(without the quotes).
11. In the next box, (Click to configure) you'll get a
pop-up box. For Server, enter "mailmanlists.eu" (without
the quotes) and 50 for Priority.
12. Click the Add Record button.
13. Select "TXT" in the left drop-down menu.
14. In the text box to the right (Name), enter "lists"
(without the quotes).
15. In the next box, enter "v=spf1 mx a
ip4:46.226.109.95
ip6:2001:4b98:dc2:41:216:3eff:fe73:e0a7 ~all" (without
the quotes)
16. Click the Add Record button.
17. Select "TXT" in the left drop-down menu.
18. In the text box to the right (Name), enter
"_dmarc.lists" (without the quotes).
19. In the next box, enter "v=DMARC1; p=none; pct=100;
rua=mailto:; sp=none; aspf=r"
(without the quotes)
20. Click the Add Record button.
21. Select "TXT" in the left drop-down menu.
22. In the text box to the right (Name), enter
"mail._domainkey.lists" (without the quotes).
23. In the next box, KEEP THE QUOTES as below and enter:
v=DKIM1; h=sha256; k=rsa;
"p=MIIBIjANBgkqhkiG9w0BAQEFAAOCAQ8AMIIBCgKCAQEA9QOryYO9wJFYdijc7TVYb3Txq++yBGozJYRkLmkS5pDoLmrlxhXPykTG+Wg+Apr4LpBGKEAZqvWmBGoSaNQj4Nluer8Xynfc0ts9AVLiN0G4ILCXqB4F2Itq/ooaSB2Nl06eGIiiglq6GWpRkOVklSI2SJwc+oJzI5qmmzH9M5xUUeWxGZWpbG/7YW/xYB7hc68Dd9F+xqal/5" "ksMW/vcBeG3llchyW6cxGgZagAas2Numr23uqT73l2zbABgJP6kFBHuUEXGGBT8Qt4j5FXnLKkQO7gD+i8P5mUPnpgWeAYNidX+B37zUbHV3cJgVkLQM+DSOfGF8SvnBjHTiw5wQIDAQAB"
24. Click the Add Record button.

And that's it. It could take a couple of hours for the new records to get picked up around the world.

The data that I've written above is in your Account page in case
you are looking for it in the future, or if it gets scrambled in
this email. Also, your Account page will let you know if there
are any errorrs. If you see errors, allow enough time for the
records to get picked up and check again.

And if you get stuck, let me know.

Regards,
Mark

Thanks,

I'm not experienced with it and don't want to mess up or cause a conflict
with what our sys admin already set up. (We don't have them full-time, so
if I can do this myself without screwing things up, that's fine.)

When I log in to Cloudflare, and go to "Manage your Domain Name System
(DNS) settings" I have (some details are replaced with [snip]):

DNS Records

A, AAAA, and CNAME records can have their traffic routed through the
Cloudflare system. Add more records using this form, and click the cloud
next to each record to toggle Cloudflare on or off.

There is a table with the following columns:
Type: Name: Value: TTL: Status

My sys admin already has the following set up:
AAAA xalgorithms.org points to [snip] Automatic
A xalgorithms.org points to [snip] Automatic
MX: xalgorithms.org mail handled by [snip] Automatic
MX: xalgorithms.org mail handled by [snip] Automatic
MX: xalgorithms.org mail handled by [snip] Automatic
MX: xalgorithms.org mail handled by [snip] Automatic
MX: xalgorithms.org mail handled by [snip] Automatic
MX: xalgorithms.org mail handled by [snip] Automatic
MX: xalgorithms.org mail handled by [snip] Automatic

Do I just add additional entries based on
https://www.mailmanlists.net/account/dns/376

Is there risk of any conflicts amongst the added and existing entries?

Hi Joseph,

Yes, we are familiar with Cloudflare's DNS editor. How can we
help?

Mark
